You more than likely live your day-to-day life, going through motions that you learned long ago. Having somehow lost sight of the man that you once believed that you would someday become. I lived almost as much of my life pretending that “I had it all figured out,” as I have realizing that I wasn’t really even close.
It took a lot for me to see that the answers I was seeking were for questions that didn’t really matter much anyway, and that the few lessons that were of importance were the ones that were staring me in the face all along.
I was more fortunate than most however, for I had a coach. I had a tutor and guide, and although there were often times that I felt lost and without my bearings, I came to discover that my mentor was beside me all along . . . keeping me on course and moving in the right direction.
My mentor and the lessons he shared brought me back home to the place that I am today. And I can show you the same, for I have no desire to keep his wisdom a secret. The truth, I have come to learn, is a gift to be shared.
The Mentor is the story of an ordinary man’s understanding of relationship. It is an honest look at our attachment to our mothers and our bond with our fathers. It is a study in how we co-create a loving union with our chosen partner. It is a glance at how we form connections with whatever it is that we define to be god, and ultimately how we create the most important relationship of all.
